Two Unipart Car Care Centres named regional winners of Motorcodes Garage of the Year 2012
Motorists across the UK have been voting in their thousands to name their top garages for car servicing and repair. The operator of OFT-backed codes of practice for the motor industry, Motor Codes, has named two Unipart Car Care Centres as regional winners for the Midlands and Scotland.
Huge congratulations to Church Road Garage, in Baschurch, Shrewsbury and also to Firstdrive Cars, in Hindwells, Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire. Both garages have scooped the regional award for best, most trusted small garage in their region.
The Garage of the Year contest is an annual initiative to help motorists find reliable garages that offer consistently good customer service. Motor Codes has gathered feedback from over 13,500 car service and repair customers and has named Church Road Garage and First Drive in top 20 regional winners of the competition. The competition is divided into two categories to show motorists’ favourite large and small businesses.
Bill Smith, Owner of Church Road Garage said, "To make it through to the regional finals as Midlands best, most trusted small garage on public votes is a fantastic accolade in itself. We're very excited and proud about being nominated the best garage in our area and will be doing all we can to try to become Garage of the Year in the UK finals! Over the years we're built excellent relationships with the very best suppliers in the trade which helps us to offer a fantastic service to our motorist customers."
Paul Mackie, owner of Firstdrive cars said, "This competition champions the very best garages out there and we are absolutely delighted that so many motorists across Aberdeenshire have voted for us. The team here work extremely hard to give our customers the very best standard of service and we are very proud to be regional winners of such a prestigious competition. We’re looking forward to the next stage of the competition!"
Chris Mason, Motor Codes managing director said: "It's clear to see from the tremendous level of support for the competition – we received double the number of votes compared to last year – that motorists value simple, good old fashioned customer service. Garage of the Year gives people a formal way of showing their appreciation, at the same time as letting other motorists know where to find the garage good guys. It’s going to be tough to choose a winner from the regional garages shortlist."
The twenty regional finalists will now have their votes and customer feedback analysed by a panel of motoring experts including The Sun’s Motors editor, Ken Gibson, Emma Butcher, consumer editor at What Car? magazine, Peter Lawton, editor of industry magazine Car and Accessory Trader and John Jackson of Havoline. In addition, each regional winner will be independently assessed by the RAC, to monitor quality of service, value for money and overall customer satisfaction.
Once the assessments have taken place, the overall winners – the UK’s best large and small garage – will be announced. Follow the campaign at www.motorcodes.co.uk.
